This exquisite guitar is made for "playing with power". It has a very clear and well-projected tone that stands out in live performances.
Its acoustic strength comes, in part, from the use of Port Orford cedar on the soundboard and dense Macassar ebony on the back and sides. This particular model is also available with ziricote, Malaysian blackwood, or African blackwood in place of the Macassar ebony.
As an alternative to the Port Orford cedar, the soundboard can be made from master-grade European spruce, which gives the instrument a slightly more sophisticated sound. This may be an attractive option if the instrument is to be used primarily for recording.
